South Beach Boardies
Look good whilst doing good for the seas in eco-friendly beachwear made from recycled plastic bottles and designed in South Fremantle.
Now based far away from friends and family in the U.K., the Brit ex-pats felt the urge to create unique gifts to send back overseas, finding a lack of authentic and original designs that captured their new country's true essence and beauty. Mokoh was born.
Named after their kids, Molly and Koh, Mokoh remains a family business creating Australian souvenirs designed and handmade in their home studio in South Fremantle. Prints are inspired by the bright botanicals of Australia and the flora and fauna of the continent, with many Freo-centric designs, including the famous Dingo dog and port cranes, on cups, posters, greeting cards, tea towels, placemats, and t-shirts. Design is uniquely Western Australian.
"Mokoh was born out of our love for everything Australian," says Trudy. "We want to design and create products with an upmarket feel that would make great gifts or even buy to keep in your own home."
All products are handmade in small batches, with greeting cards and envelopes made using 100% recycled cards, as sustainability is vital, yet retaining quality is paramount. "We strive for authenticity in everything we create," she says.
You can find their wares in various national stockists and in Fremantle at Found at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
