If you have ever dreamed of an up-close look at Michelangelo's artistic mastery, grab a ticket to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition that brings the Renaissance painter's famous frescos to Fremantle, merging the classic with contemporary using modern innovation.
Visitors can experience Michelangelo's work with life-size creations of his Vatican City-based pieces in Perth. The ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been recreated using licensed high-definition photos then brought to life with a unique printing technique that displays the age and detail of each piece. Not only showcasing the artistic talents of the 16th-century master but also allowing guests to gaze at Michelangelo's masterpieces a little closer to home.
34 frescoes will be on show, including the Last Judgement, with accompanying signage or hire an audio guide to delve a little deeper into the detail of each image.
It may have taken Michelangelo four years to complete his famous frescos, but you can save a little time with this immersive art show that takes around 60 to 90 minutes to explore.
After making its way through Shanghai, Chicago, Vancouver, Berlin, and Vienna, this experience is finally coming to Perth (and Freo!). Beginning from 14 April 2022 at The Naval Store in Fremantle.
Some artwork is timeless, with its popularity unwavering even after centuries. Michelangelo's paintings are arguably some of the most alluring in the world.
